Glynn Roehr, Neenah, Wisconsin. Daniels' original letter to Roehr on "Monitor" stationery, signed for Daniels by a secretary, is present. Roehr wanted to have his local newspapers reprint "A Time for Choosing," an article by Ronald Reagan published in "Monitor" earlier that year. Daniels gives his permission but suggests "that you might also request from Mr. Reagan his permission as the author of the article to have it republished. To save you the trouble, therefore, I am sending him a copy of this letter on which he can note his reply, together with an envelope addressed to you." Reagan has handwritten, in red ink, his consent: "Permission granted/Sept. 30 - 1963/Ronald Reagan." With an 8 page, 8.5" x 11" folded reprint of "A Time for Choosing" from "Monitor." On October 27, 1964, Reagan delivered a Goldwater campaign speech to an audience in Phoenix, Arizona. Now known as "The Speech," it was also entitled "A Time for Choosing" and incorporated many of the thoughts and ideas expressed by Reagan in his "Monitor" article. Three items. Fine condition....
